About Trip:

Mount Kailash Charan Sparsha tour is a part of Kailash Inner Kora. Charan Sparhsa is to touch base of Mt Kailash (foot of Mt Kailash) upto the ice Lingam. Tour is part of Kailash outer parikrama too. Since Kailash Inner kora of three days towards Saptarishi cave and Nandi hill, formally not open by the local army of Tibet, at least only one day Charansparsa which is also the part of Kailash Kora is preferable for most of the pilgrimage in the tour. You just need to add one more day in the Kailash tour plan. Walking to closer of Kailash starts from Dirapuk after a day hiking of outer Kora route. It is about 14 kilometer hiking both the way from Dirapuk (North side of Mt Kailash). In this tour, total Kailash Parikrama days will be four starting first day from Darchen till Derapuk, second day to Charansparsha, third day Dolama-La pass and stay at Juthulpuk. Last day or fourth day of the Kailash parikrama is from Derapuk to Darchen. You also have option to make this within 3 days using local emergency vehicle from the tent house after crossing Dolma-La pass and down hill.

It is believe by devotees that Lord Shiva and his beloved Parvati reside at Mt Kailash and outer Kora or outer Kailash Parikrama is to respected walk to get blessings from Shiva and Parbati. Walking to Charansparsha and touch the feet of Mt Kailash is believed to get flow of energy and blessing, happiness and successful. Totally hiking tour is trough the path of sleepary ice and crevasses. It is about 7 hours walking both way may longer for slow walkers. It is suggested to take this walk with your guide and also suggest to carry your bag pack, enough water and other foods by your personal helper from Dirapuk. Tour can start either from mainland china or from Kathmandu Nepal. It is a private tour or can join our group tour in its best season from month of May till September. Tour is through registered tour agencies and lead by local Tibetan guide.

Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 1 : Arrival in Nepal (Tribhuban International airport) 1400 meters

Representative from Tibet Kailash Travel great at Airport and transfer to Hotel near at tourist city Thamel. Check in and rest of the time is rest in your hotel.

Day 2 : Day in Kathmandu sightseeing and Kailash visa apply. Overnight in the Hotel

It is first day in Kathmandu, spend full day at UNESCO heritage sites and in Pilgrimage sites. We also procced Kailash visa with your original passport and other documents

Day 3 : Second day in Kathmandu, waiting for Kailash visa. Overnight at the Hotel

We should wait 3 full working day here in Kathmandu to get the Kailash visa from Chinese Embassy. Today is the second day of the waiting. You also have option to visit some other places in Kathmandu valley or involve is the small hiking as preparation

Day 4 : Third day in Kathmandu, waiting for Kailash visa. Overnight in the Hotel

Today at the third day of waiting Kailash visa from Chinese embassy, we stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 5 : Drive to Nepal Tibet border, overnight in local hotel of Nepal site 11 meters

After getting your Kailash visa, we drive to Nepal Tibet border which is 7 hours driving from Kathmandu. Stay overnight in the locally available best hotel

Day 6 : Cross Nepal Tibet border and drive to Kerung (1 Hour) 2700 meters. Overnight in the Hotel

The immigration opens at 8am Chinese time which is 10 am Nepali time. After finishing the both immigration checking in, meet your Tibetan crew and drive towards first Tibetan town Tibet. Overnight in Kerung. We involve in the small hiking around to have good acclimatization

Day 7 : Drive Kerung to Saga Town, (7 Hours) 4450 meters Overnight in the Hotel

It is to drive second Tibetan town today with some of the high passes crossing by our driving route. The scenic landscape and the Himalayan views are on the way and we do stop at the places to capture them.

Day 8 : Saga to Pariyang (Short driving) same altitude of Saga for overnight

It is to drive Pariyang town today, we actually making short driving not to cross much altitude but have enough acclimatization in the land. walk around to observe the local town and villages. Overnight in the Hotel

Day 9 : Pariyang to Lake Mansarovar to to Darchen for Overnight (4 Hours) 4580 meters. Overnight at Hotel

After 3/4 hours of driving from Pariyan town to Lake Mansarovar, you will stay your enough time in the bank of Lake Mansarovar. There are option to hike Chui Gumba, pray at the Mansarovar bank site. We do not stay overnight here to avoid Mud house overnight since good hotels are available in Darchen. Drive to Darchen for overnight

Day 10 : Darchen to Derapuk, the first day Kailash Parikrama. 7 Hours and overnight in Guest House 4900 meters

If you need personal helper, personal horse for the Kailash Parikrama, you will get ready with the help of Guide. It is 7 kilometer driving with our car/ Van/ Bus and another 7 hours easy walking to reach Derapuk in the first day of Kailash Parikrama. We overnight in the altitude of almost 5000 meters today.

Day 11 : Walk to Charansparsha, the part of Inner Kailash (7-9 Hours) back to Derapuk for overnight

It is day to walk to Charansparsha. Start in the morning time and day hike till base of Mt Kailash. Highly suggest to walk with your guide and take one personal helper for your small bag pack, water and some snack. back to Derapuk for overnight

Day 12 : Second day of Kailash outer Parikrama passing through Dolma-La 5600 meters and reach Juthulpuk (9 Hours) to overnight in Guest House 4760 meters

It is hardest day of the Kailash Parikrama, walking about 9 hours to cross 19 kilometers distance. 3 Hours to go upto Dolamala and another 3 hours down hill to get upto tent house. Another 3 hours walking through the flat land to reach finally at Juthulpuk. If you have taken personal horse, your horse does not carry in the down hill but it will carry only to reach Dolama- La and to flat land.

Day 13 : Walking to Darchen (3 Hours) and drive to Saga (6 Hours) for overnight in the Hotel

It is about 3 hours easy walking from Juthulpuk to Darchen. The third day of Kailash parikrama is easy walking reach at your bus point and driving same way back to Saga for overnight.

Day 14 : Drive back to Kerung town (6/7 Hours) for overnight in the Hotel

It is also the same way driving back to Kerung town today to overnight. It is 6 to 7 hours journey and very near from the Nepal Tibet immigration. But the time we reach Kerung town will be the closing time of the Immigration and we wait for next day cross the border.

Day 15 : Kerung town to Immigration and towards Kathmandu (8 Hours) Overnight in the Hotel

It is just an hour to reach Nepal Tibet immigration. After formalities in the both sites, drive to Kathmandu which is 7 hours. Reach at hotel and overnight

Day 16 : Day of Departure

We manage to drop you to you to International airport for your further destination. It is important to start 3 hours before from the Hotel from your flight time

Usefull Info

Accommodation in the trip

It is 3 star category hotel on two peoples sharing in Kathmandu. Local guest houses are provided on the way Kailash two peoples sharing but for the 4 nights, Lake Mansarovar, Dirapuk 2 nights and another one night in Juthulpuk is compulsory group sharing guest houses. Hotel upgrading to 4 or 5 star for Kathmandu is also possible. Guest houses upgrading in Kailash region in Kerung, Saga and in Darchen is also possible but it will be the same guest houses in Lake Mansarovar, Dirapuk and in Juthulpuk because only one option and the same types of few guest houses are available. Every guest houses are without heating in the room, with toilet bathroom inside. Guest houses for 4 nights on group sharing does not provide inside toilet and heating too.

Foods and drinks in the trip

Itinerary, plan and cost of Kailash Charansparsa tour is including breakfast every morning in the package. Lunch and dinner in the entire tour is extra paid which is approximately USD 250 per person, this cost including your drinks too. Foods and drinks are from local restaurants. Restaurants are local and it is Chinese and Tibetan style foods. Vegetarian option is possible. Lake Mansarovar, and during the Parikrama/ Kora days, foods are from local tent houses and basic. If you are looking for kitchen group service, let us know we may suggest you our another group and dates to join with the full board package where our own staffs will cook the veg foods for entire journey. Foods and dozen of restaurants in your choice are available in Kathmandu.

Trip from Mainland China and Lhasa

To enter mount Kailash, there are two ways. One is from Lhasa via mainland China and another is from Kathmandu Nepal. If your flights are suitable to land in mainland china, entering Kailash from Lhasa is the easy way. Spend few days in Lhasa with memorial visit. Drive to Shigatse, Gyantse and reach Saga to enter Kailash territory. It is all the way driving from central Tibet to western Tibet. For luxury seeker and to have very short days of the time can fly Lhasa airport to Ali and start Kailash Parikrama including Charansparsa. Another way from Nepal Kathmandu also provide you an opportunity to visit Kathmandu city or other region of beautiful Himalayan country and start driving tour to Kailash region or also have option to fly Lhasa airport from Kathmandu to start your trip from Lhasa. You also have option to include Everest Base Camp of North site of Tibet in your trip.
